A Rough Players Guide

I recently decided to give a RPG server a try. Actually it was Cookie that tweeked my interest when on chat not long ago he told me about a server where a track could take more than an hour to finish. My first thought was some TM kind of 24hr Le Mans type format. What I found was annoying, challenging, frustrating, and strangely addictive game that was like nothing I expected.

Understand from the start that this is a Rough Players….Guide, with me being the ‘Rough Player’. This is not a knowledgeable, informative, well researched article on the subject.  No this is definitely more in the idiots guide category where I do what I do best and describe all the stupid things that can happen to the RPG novice. For some this may prove helpful, to those of you that have already been there and done that it might remind you of some of your own experiences(come on, I can’t be the only idiot), So here we go…….

I first noticed RPG servers a couple of months back so I don’t know how long they have been around but I’m thinkin that it’s not too long.  I didn’t try one cause there are lots of funny named servers around and unless they have ‘dirt’ of ‘cross’ in their names I don’t look at them. Also in this context I didn’t know what RPG meant and I still don’t - officially. I assume it means Role Playing Game, however, sometime later I suspect that RPG actually means different things at different times. Depending on how your going it can be a ‘Relaxing Pleasant Glide’, or a ‘Relentless Painful Grind’ at worst...I’d ‘Rather Poison Gas’.
